It’s a huge encouragement. Alhamdulillah, my canvas painting achieved 3rd place in the 3rd Annual Islamic Art Competition (HMF announcement)! Participants were from all over Canada.
Art Description of My Painting:
This painting honors Fatima Al-Fihri, the Muslim founder of Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University. My painting symbols of her donation, the mosque, the university, and Morocco’s native flowers, it reflects her timeless contribution to education. Approximately 1000 years ago, she built the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University with her own money (she got from her father and husband), which institute also recognized by UNESCO. And she graduated from that institute when she was 59.

Seeing my pieces—my heart, my thoughts, my hours of work—displayed for the public was a dream come true.
